Highly Nonlinear Fiber with Enhanced SBS Effect for Narrowband Optical Filtering

Abstract

We propose a method to manipulate the SBS process in optical fiber. By adjusting its doping level and structure, a desired single-peak BGS with a bandwidth of ~17MHz and a Brillouin gain coefficient of ~2.45 m−1·W−1 can be achieved.
