Abstract

we propose a novel structure to realize highly efficient polarization beam splitter (PBS) by using a slot waveguide. Simulation results show that the PBS has realizes extinction ratio larger than 24.6 dB from 1500 nm to 1600 nm for TM and larger than 20 dB from 1521 nm to 1584 nm for TE. The maximum of ER for TE is as high as 37.4 dB at 1552 nm. The insertion loss for TE and TM are under 0.06 dB and 0.33dB, respectively.
