Strain sensing characteristics based on a fiber-capillary-fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer

Abstract

By using the manual welding method, a capillary-based extrinsic Fabry-Perot structure is demonstrated for strain sensing. It is found that strain sensitivity increases as the length of the capillary becomes shorter and the inner diameter of the capillary gets larger.
