Abstract

We found that heterogeneity of Ce:LiCaAlF6 single crystal grown by Czochralski (Cz) method. It was showed by measurement of multi-photon luminescence and it is due to Ce3+ ion by using LA-ICPMS. And we investigated the lasing properties of Ce:LiCaAlF6 at three areas with different concentration and distribution of Ce ion. As a result, the slope efficiency is highest and the lasing threshold is smallest at the uniformly distributed area of Ce ion. So the factor of scatterers has a greater effect on lasing properties than that of concentration of Ce ion.
