Tunable Hyperbolic Metamaterials for Novel Photonic Devices

Abstract

Hyperbolic metamaterials (HMMs) are proven suitable for tunable filters, controlled gain/absorption and mode propagation in waveguides, including mode coupling. We present opportunities which HMMs bring to the design of novel passive and active photonic devices.
