A Novel Scheme to Increase Receiver Sensitivity of PAM-4 Signal in Optical Amplified Network

Abstract

We propose and demonstrate a novel scheme to increase receiver sensitivity of PAM-4 signal in optical amplified network. Non-uniform PAM-4 signal is generated to suppress signal-spontaneous beating noise from optical amplifier and reduce power penalty.
