Strong resonant radiation limits Kerr cavity soliton existence in longitudinally modulated resonators

Abstract

We have experimentally and numerically studied the effects of dispersion management on temporal Kerr cavity solitons. We find that the solitons can parametrically excite strong resonant sidebands that affect their range of existence.
