Abstract
We study ultra-confined polaritonic modes supported by thin micro- and nano-devices made of hexagonal boron nitride flakes. We image these modes using new optical scanning probes microscopy techniques. These results open new avenues for nano-photonics as a way to achieve extreme light confinement at the nanoscale.
