Helical Long-period Grating Inscription in Graded-index Few-mode Fiber for Temperature Sensing

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the fabrication of helical long-period grating (HLPG) in graded-index few-mode fiber by CO2 laser. The fabricated HLPG is found to be sensitive to temperature with a high sensitivity up to 244 pm/℃.
