Abstract

We demonstrate a photonics-based stepped-frequency radar with centimetre range resolution, using a frequency-shifting loop and low-cost MHz-speed electronics. Compared with those using high-speed electronics, this system achieves competitive performance and flexible bandwidth reaching 5.76 GHz. © 2020 The Author(s)
