Harmonic Generation and Broadband Upconversion in a Coupled Semiconductor-Metal Nanoparticle Bilayer

Abstract

A heterostructure comprising CuS and Au nanoparticle films separated by insulating ligands exhibits enhanced second- and third-harmonic generation and broadband multiphoton photoluminescence from femtosecond excitation of localized surface plasmon resonances of CuS at 1050 nm.
