Acoustic diamond resonators with ultra-small mode volumes

Abstract

We introduce a novel acoustic cavity for a high-cooperativity orbit-phonon coupling with color centers in diamond. The enhancement of coupling is achieved by localizing the energy of a GHz acoustic mode into a deep-subwavelength volume.
