Improving Regenerative Capability of Nonlinear-optical Loop Mirror (NOLM)-based All-optical Regenerators by adopting a Polarization-Maintaining Coupler

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a polarization-maintaining coupler based nonlinear-optical loop mirror (PMC-NOLM) regenerator, improving the noise-handling capability over 100% compared to conventional schemes. The amplitude-distortion suppression of 60% and Q-factor improvement of 3.5dB are achieved.
