Development of optical system for measuring velocity of cerebrospinal fluid in shunt system

Abstract

We have suceeded in measuring the velocity of cerebrospinal fluid in shunt system using the laser-two-focus velocimeter. This is accomplished by inserting air lumps in the shunt tube which move together with the fluid.
