Abstract

We report multi-GHz continuous-wave mode-locked operation of an ytterbium-doped monoclinic double tungstate waveguide laser employing single-walled carbon nanotubes. The extended laser cavity including a wedged waveguide and a lens pair ensures reliable mode-locking performances without instability. The 3.55-GHz waveguide laser emitting 876-fs pulses highly suggest the potential of crystalline Yb:KLuW channel waveguides for efficiently femtosecond mode-locked high-repetition-rate operation.
