High-speed electro-optic modulators using graphene in a sub-μm-thick structure

Abstract

We report a new type of graphene-based electro-optic modulators with low insertion loss, high modulation speed, and large active area. These modulators are suitable for pure amplitude modulation in laser cavities without parasitic phase modulation.
