Polymeric Micro-Lenses Aided Free Space Optical Interconnects

Abstract

Free space optical interconnects (1-4mm) are realized using surface normal proximity couplers composed of integrated 45 degree mirrors and ink-jet printed micro-lenses. High speed data transmission shows improved signal quality with micro-lenses.
