Tailoring of Saturation in Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifier by SBS-Induced Nonlinear Phase

Abstract

We use gain-transparent SBS to defer/expedite the saturation of a fiber optical parametric amplifier by dynamically control the phase mismatch. The input signal power at saturation can be raised or reduced by ~6 dB.
