Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a class of beams—known as the Frozen Waves (FWs)—which are composed of higher order Bessel beams and can maintain predetermined longitudinal intensity profiles in the presence of propagation losses. FWs can address many challenges in optical trapping and micro-manipulation.
