Versatile, high-power femtosecond laser source at 1µm

Abstract

We describe a stable, compact, femtosecond laser system based on Yb-doped gain media. Capable of delivering sub-300 fs pulses with mJ energy, the system is an attractive alternative to traditional Ti:sapphire systems.
