Mode shape engineering of silicon nitride nano-strings for quantum optomechanics

Abstract

We detail the design and performance of silicon nitride nanostrings optimized for room-temperature quantum optomechanics. Specifically, our devices feature a low effective mass and high mechanical Q, for a localized high-order mode.
