High-performance and cost-effective C-OTDR employing polarization independent coherent detection

Abstract

We propose a novel C-OTDR scheme which not only achieves large dynamic range but also solves the problem of polarization dependence. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate its feasibility and potentiality in ultra-long fiber link monitoring.
