Light sources for neuromorphic computing

Abstract

We have demonstrated electrically-injected waveguide-coupled LEDs based on W centers in silicon for neuromorphic computing. We analyze the sources of loss in these LEDs and simulate new designs for scalable, waveguide-coupled devices with several orders of magnitude higher efficiency.
