Slow cooking of SNAP microresonators

Abstract

We demonstrate a SNAP microresonator permanently introduced at the silica microcapillary by multi-hour heating with hot water from the inside. The discovered effect is presumably caused by water-induced irreversible processes within the micron-scale silica thickness.
