Compact Self-Mixing Vibrometer for Application to Burglary Detection

Abstract

A laser-diode self-mixing vibrometer with a new, minimum part-count analogue processing of fringe signal is developed. It detects ambient vibrations with high sensitivity and is demonstrated to be an excellent burglary intrusion detector, on a range up to several meters.
