Non-invasive and Online Pipeline Corrosion Detection based on Distributed Acoustic Sensing

Abstract

A non-invasive online method for pipeline corrosion detection based on active acoustic flaw detection is proposed and demonstrated. The test results show that the proposed method can identify corrosion with a size less than 0.5%.
