Beyond 100 Gbit/s per Wavelength PAM-8 Transmission over 25 km Using Low Complexity Equalization

Abstract

We demonstrate high-speed PAM-8 transmission over 25 km SMF for access networks using an MZM. BERs below 3.8e-3 were obtained at 108 Gbit/s and 120 Gbit/s using a linear and a simplified Volterra equalizer respectively.
