1 Pb/s Transmission in a 125μm diameter 4-core MCF

Abstract

We achieve petabit/s transmission with 801 x 24.5 GBd PDM-256QAM carriers over 20 THz bandwidth in 4 cores of standard cladding diameter multi-core fiber using doped-fiber and Raman amplification with a novel freespace multi-core pump module.
