Vertical 2D Grating Coupler for Efficient Multiplexing of Six Modes Between the Few Mode Fiber and SOI Chip

Abstract

We have successfully designed a vertical 2D grating coupler that can multiplex/de-multiplex three spatial fiber modes in both polarizations between a few mode fiber and six SOI waveguides with reasonably equalized high efficiencies.
