Transverse Force Sensing for Large-scale Array Applications Based on Mode Coupling in FMF

Abstract

We propose a transverse force sensing scheme for large-scale array applications based on linearly-polarized mode coupling in few-mode fibers, and experimentally demonstrate the feasibility for human sleeping postures monitoring with 16-cm spatial resolution.
