Line-by-Line Inscription of Waveguide Bragg Gratings in Bulk Glass Using Femtosecond Laser

Abstract

We demonstrate the first line-by-line waveguide Bragg grating written in bulk glass by femtosecond laser. The grating strength reaches 38dB in a length of only 5 mm, the loss is less then 0.7 dB.
