Investigation of shock-waves generated by ps UV filaments

Abstract

Shock-waves generated by UV filaments are investigated. The shock-wave first nonlinearly propagates with a super-sonic velocity, thereafter linearly at a group velocity close to the speed of sound, which is determined by the filament preparation.
