Abstract
For small and efficient diode pumped solid-state laser systems, laser diode (LD)—optical fiber coupling has several advantages—high-power density at the end of a fiber, a possibility to combine powers of different LDs, a much higher degree of freedom in designing, small size, and electrical safety of the laser head, more simple scheme for cooling of the laser crystal, a remote LDs mounting, etc.
