Abstract

The use of EDFA with inhomogeneously broadened line (IBL) allows the amplification of multiplexed signals. It is known that in a fiber amplifier with IBL, the channels could be independently amplified by each other. The wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technique could offer significant economic performance advantages for a network through improved capacity, reliability, and transparency. Up to now there are great advances in the study of WDM fiber systems.1,2
