Abstract

A 1-10-m laser rangefinder has been developed (Fig, 1). The range data is obtained by measuring the phase-shift ΔΦ between the transmitted and the received sinusoidally modulated beams. The distance d is then given by the relationship: where f is the modulation frequency and c the speed of the light.
