Abstract
Compact diode-pumped solid-state lasers producing tunable picosecond pulses are very useful for scientific, medical, or industrial applications. Cr3+-doped Li-SrAl6, (Cr:LiSAF) has been demonstrated to be a very interesting laser material emitting like titanium sapphire in the near infrared, between 800 and 1000 nm.1 Moreover, its absorption band between 600 and 700 nm makes diode-pumping possible with recently developed high power AlGalnP red laser diodes.2,3
