Abstract

It is well known that the multiple visible Stokes generation due to stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) of high-intensity ultrashort light pulses in long optical fibers (OF) could be realized. But the most effective parametric transformation of pump pulse energy in silica OF was demonstrated when the "phase-capture” regime for the same pump and Stokes pulses took place during the dynamic core index change by intensive picosecond light fields.1 The whole number of Stokes SRS components in that case exceeds 20. Unfortunately, the Raman gain is diminished from the visible to the IR region and, as a rule, other nonlinear processes (for example, self-phase modulation and 4-photon mixing) became preferable in silica OF.
