Abstract

In the recent years, the overall success in handling the lasers working on mixtures metal vapour-noble gas has overshadowed the interest in the details of the processes governing the inverse population in these active media. Most of the metal vapour-noble gas lasers, however, are still susceptible to optimization. An example is the positive column He-Se+ laser. It appears even more attractive due to its three-colour (red-green-blue) mode of operation.1
