Abstract

A bandpass filter based on coupling from a fibre, side polished beyond cut-off, to a planar polymeric waveguide is demonstrated. The filter exhibited a minimum linewidth of 13 nm, a tunability of 100 nm, and insertion losses as low as 0.5 dB.
