Abstract

The problem of the remote determination of the oil film thickness on the water surface is actually remined and it is not solved yet. In this paper we compared the four laser spectral methods, which had been offered for decision of this problem. These laser methods are based on the measurements: (a) of absolute oil fluorescence spectral conversion efficiency; (b) of suppression of Raman back- scattering signal from water by oil film; (c) of oil fluorescence signal, which is normalized on Raman backscattering signal from water volume;1 and (d) of deformation of Raman backscattering water band because of oil film absorption.
