Abstract
Fiber-optic delivery systems for laser sources are now widely used in the biomedical field. In this work a control device that improves the safety of the system is described. The proposed device has been designed and realized in order to interrupt the laser emission in case of fiber damage, in any point of the fiber, and in presence of misalignments between input optic and fiber, source anomalous behavior, or input optic damage.
