Abstract

All presently reported photorefractive polymer composites of high efficiency rely on the orientational enhancement mechanism. We have identified conditions in which the speed of re-orientational response is the limiting factor in holographic diffraction efficiency rise-times, not the dynamics of the space-charge field.
