Abstract
Tunable excimer lasers of narrow linewidth deserve special attention for various applications in lithography, spectroscopy and holography. In the field of spectroscopy Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) of small molecules has proved to be a valuable tool e.g. in combustion research [1]. Using narrowband excitation (≈1 cm–1) it enables the determination of 3-dimensional distributions of concentrations and temperatures. Two different excitation wavelengths are necessary for the observation of temperature fields and are also helpful for the quantitative determination of concentration profiles.
