Abstract

The study of the flight performance of a dragonfly requires a simple method to measure the torsional angle and flapping angle of a dragonfly wing during beating motion, we developed a fringe projection method in which the flapping angle and torsional angle of a dragonfly wing can be measured during beating motion using only one high-speed camera. The measured sections can be easily recognized from the number of fringes, without having to use any diffuse marks.
