Abstract

In present time the optical and lasing properties of many new Nd3+-doped crystals are investigated to improve the characteristics of neodymium solid-state lasers. The laser action of Nd3+ :SrLaGa3O7 (Nd:SLGO) has been reported in [1]. In this paper we demonstrate for the first lime to our knowledge the passive mode-locking of Nd:SLGO laser. The ultrashort pulses of 25-30 ps duration are obtained. The data of slope efficiency measurements are reported.
