Abstract

High-power large-area multimode laser diodes are important for a wide range of applications. In this work, we present our improved epitaxial quality in terms of efficiencies, intrinsic losses, far-field angles and differential resistances. Therefore, gain-guided broad-area laser diodes and arrays mounted junction-side down on diamond heat spreaders have been fabricated and investigated.
