Investigation of the Singlet Oxygen Generator with the Twisted Flow

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The experimental and theoretical investigations results of the Aerosol Singlet Oxygen Generator with the Twisted flow (TASOG) intended for supersonic high pressure Chemical Iodine - Oxygen Laser (COIL) are presented. TASOG output flow parameters are studied at different reaction zone lengths, with inner gas velocities up to 40 m/sec, and pressures up to 90 Torr. The stable available TASOG model operation range without aerosol carrying out is defined and all characteristics presented apply to this very case. The singlet oxygen flux value through the output cross section unit at the reaction zone as much as 6 mmol/sec×cm2 or electron energy flux more than 500 Wt/cm2 are achieved. The TASOG output increasing ways are discussed.
