Abstract
Combined planar Mie scattering and laser induced fluorescence (LIF) obtained from a spray seeded with a fluorescent agent permits droplet sizing, and is termed Laser Sheet Dropsizing or LSD [1]. This technique has enabled the characterisation of the spray in terms of the relative drop size distribution, the relative drop number density, and the relative liquid volume fraction.
