Abstract
Continuous-wave (cw) nonlinear frequency conversion using quasi-phasematched crystals has become a relatively mature technique for efficiently generating radiation over a broad range of wavelengths. With its high nonlinearity of deff ≈ 9.5 pm/V and high damage threshold, PPKTP is an interesting alternative to periodically poled LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 (PPLN, PPLT). One important advantage of this material is the absence of photoreffactive effects which, for example, allows operation at room temperature.
