Abstract

We analyse numerically, the propagation of a light condensate[1] through a bulk PTS-like[2] nonlinear optical material in the presence of boundary conditions and localised in homogeneities. The refractive index of the bulk medium is of the form: where I is the beam intensity and usual values for the experimental parameters are: n0 = 1.8, TI2 = 2.2 10~3cm2/W and n4 = 0.8-10−3cm4/W2. The propagation equation for the above waveguide in the paraxial regime is a generalised non linear Schrödinger (NLSE), including cubic-quintic terms and the effect of boundaries or localised inhomogeneities.
